Students of Meridian Public School, Pandallur celebrated Moon Day in a unique way on Saturday. It was on July 20, 1969, that American astronaut Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the moon.
The students recreated the American spacecraft Apollo-11, on which Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin Aldrin Jr. made the historic space journey.

He explained to the children how it was like travelling to the moon and back. The students asked “little Armstrong” many questions. Some wanted to know whether he was apprehensiveabout landing on a deserted landmass.

Week-long fete
The Social Science Club and the Science Club of the school jointly organised the celebration. The week-long celebration will have competitions in poster making, painting, and quiz.
